The budget Committee questioned the government’s planned expenditure of Ugx. 490 billion on the new parish model project which is meant to eradicate poverty among 68% of the households around the country.
Minister of Finance, Matia Kasaija appeared before the committee to defend the budget estimates for the Financial Year 2021/2022 but the MPs still decline to approve the budget until the procedure for selecting the beneficiaries and the full list of beneficiaries per parish is presented by the minister.
