As mentioned below, both books had previously only ever been published in French or Spanish, despite including some of the most thorough investigations into the history of the iconic Nintendo machines. The Jaleco action-adventure title Bio-Senshi DAN: Increaser to no Tatakai is being released on Nintendo Switch on September 26th, City Connection has revealed.

The reissue of the game (which is being localized as Bio Warrior DAN The Increaser War) was announced back in July as part of City Connection's new 'JALECOlle Famicom Edition' series, which is essentially a collection of retro reissues of classic Jaleco Famicom games with a bunch of new features added to sweeten the deal.

Bitmap Books has revealed that it is publishing the English version of Robert Bannert, Thomas Nickel and Martin Nagel's Unofficial GBA Pixel Art book, which was previously published in Germany by Elektrospieler.

Highlighting over 240 classic GBA games, the book will feature the likes of Fire Emblem, The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap, Advance Wars, Final Fantasy Tactics, Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow, Metroid Fusion, Gunstar Super Heroes and Mother 3.

While everyone and their auntie has heard of the Game Boy, the Mega Duck is rather more obscure.

Also known as the Cougar Boy, this 1993 rival to Nintendo's handheld was produced by Hong Kong company Welback Holdings (via its Timlex International division) and had a painfully short lifespan; only 24 games are thought to have been officially released for the device, making it one of the less successful Game Boy challengers.

If you want to grab a copy, there are two different options available to choose from. These include a digital edition priced at $13.99 and a physical edition (with cart, manual, sticker sheet, and box) costing $59.99. Chris P Ville, the developer behind the FlippyDrive ODE, has created another GameCube mod – a special receiver which connects four WaveBirds to your console without the need for the original receivers.

In case you didn't know, the WaveBird wireless controller uses a special RF receiver which plugs into the GameCube's controller port. FlippyBird will remove the need to have four of these connected when playing with four WaveBirds.

There was a pretty huge development in the world of SNES games recently, with the announcement that one of the people behind the console's Doom port,@RandalLinden, is involved with Limited Run's new conversation of the game, which will offer better performance, improved controls and force feedback rumble support – the latter coming via a special controller.

All of this is made possible by Linden's Super FX 3 chip, an unofficial evolution of the Super FX hardware created by British company Argonaut back in the '90s.

People have accused Nintendo's composers of copying from popular music, with notable examples being the similarities between Super Mario World's "Overworld theme", and The New Christy Minstrels' "Green Green" or The Legend of Zelda's Fairy Fountain Theme and Tatsuro Yamashita's "Morning Glory".

Australian Comedian Tommy Dassalo is getting his very own Game Boy Color game, thanks to the talents of Gumpy Function / Tom Lockwood.

Called Super Dassalo Land, it launches this Friday (August 9th) and will serve as a prequel to Dassalo's free-to-watch stand-up comedy special Scam Artist, which goes live on YouTube this Sunday.

"Tommy and his lovable pooch Kewpie have been sucked into his notebook by an evil spirit," says Gumpy Function, who also helped develop Grimace's Birthday. "Platform your way through 3 worlds and escape Tommy's notebook in time to film the stand-up special!"

The IPS 16bit Pocket HD is compatible with Super Famicom and SNES carts, and comes with a 4.3-inch IPS LCD screen and wireless controllers. It can also be connected to your TV via HDMI.

Remember the unlikely port of Duck Hunt we got for the Game Boy? Well, Tiger Bronnikov, the developer behind that project, is back – and this time he wants to create a next-gen version of Nintendo's iconic light gun shooter.

Dubbed Tiny Duck Hunt 3D, the game is currently being prepped for a Kickstarter campaign and, outside of a short animation video, is very early in development.

ROM hacker @rumbleminze has confirmed that they are porting Sunsoft's NES classic Blaster Master to the SNES.

"After taking a bit of a break, this weekend I started my next NES -> SNES conversion," says the developer. "Background tiles are all using greyscale since I haven't gotten to attributes yet. Getting to this point has been 56 builds, for anyone curious."

DidYouKnowGaming, a popular video game channel dealing in video game trivia and news about cancelled projects, has recently updated the second part of its series investigating every cancelled Nintendo 64DD game and in the process has helped debunk a persistent rumour about Donkey Kong 64 beginning development on the Japanese-exclusive disk drive add-on.

For years, it's been claimed on Wikipedia that Donkey Kong 64 was among the games that were slated to be developed for the add-on before being switched over to an N64 cartridge, with the article linking to a Gamespot article from 1997 citing "Japanese reports". In this video, however, narrated by Hard4Games, DidYouKnowGaming were able to confirm with Rare artist Carl Tilley and other former Rare employees that the game was never properly in development for the add-on.
