Hands On: AYANEO Retro Power Bank - The Cutest Power Bank You'll Ever See

(Just don't tell Nintendo...).

AYANEO's Remake line of products boasts an array of gaming systems in various form factors, but it also includes a cute little power bank shaped like a Super NES / Super Famicom. The Chinese firm has even copied the console's iconic font, but it goes without saying that this isn't an official collaboration with Nintendo, but rather a cheeky tribute which uses nostalgia to encourage a purchase.

This 12000mAh bank measures 98 × 81 × 24.4 mm and weighs 238 grams. It showcases a function switch, action button and 32 × 128-pixel monochrome OLED display, as well as two USB-C ports, both of which are capable of outputting 45W of power (only the left-side one can be used to charge the bank itself, however).

Read the full article on timeextension.com

Random: This Obscure Mario Game Copied Music From An X-Rated Film

Ralph Bakshi's 1973 film 'Heavy Traffic' to be exact.

People have accused Nintendo's composers of copying from popular music, with notable examples being the similarities between Super Mario World's "Overworld theme", and The New Christy Minstrels' "Green Green" or The Legend of Zelda's Fairy Fountain Theme and Tatsuro Yamashita's "Morning Glory".

But one of the most peculiar examples, in our opinion at least, has to be Mario Artist: Paint Studios' copying of Ed Bogas's song "Cartoon Time" (from the 1973 X-rated Ralph Bakshi film Heavy Traffic) for one of its 2D painting themes "Cats".

Read the full article on timeextension.com

Adidas And Nice Kicks Have Revived The 16-Bit Console War, But With Sneakers

"We would have to pick between Nintendo or Sega.".

Back in the early '90s, the world of video games was dominated by the SNES and Genesis / Mega Drive. These two 16-bit behemoths battled it out for living room supremacy, selling millions of units of hardware at a time when the industry seemed unstoppable.

Fast-forward to the present day, and Sega and Nintendo are now allies rather than rivals. That hasn't stopped Adidas and Nice Kicks from collaborating to create sneakers that hark back to that bitter rivalry (thanks, Forbes).

Read the full article on timeextension.com
