@BHPM It's $170/£164 so slight overkill if you are just going to use it for Amiibo stuff. I have one though and that is my main use of it so those in glass houses.

If you haven't seen them before you can normally get amiibo cards from china on a variety of websites which have the functionality of certain ones built in. I bought one of all the Zelda ones a few years ago for under a tenner so that might be of more interest.

I would never buy one of these if you live in certain areas. Someone uses one to do something illegal and the police are showing up at your door. Get something else if you want to spoof amiibo.

Sweet, I wasn't actually interested in this device at all until I read this review. I have no interest in owning any Amiibos, but it might be nice to still be able to access Amiibo-locked content in games, so this could be a way of doing that. I don't know, like maybe buy Amiibo, scan Amiibo, then sell Amiibo, something like that. Not even flipping for profit, just get a few bucks back by selling them cheaper or something. Sounds like something that I could possibly be interested in at some point. Thanks, great review!

The fear mongering about Flipper Zero is really out of control. My analogy is that it's like owning a baseball bat — you can use it to play ball, or you can use it to crack someone's skull. It's just a tool and the harm is in your intent and not in the item itself.

Ooooh nice review. I've always wanted an amiibo device, but everyone said the best way to do it was buying a bunch of single use cards. I absolutely hate their existence, and resent the fact that you have to pay for them.
