If they do ps2 then I hope yugioh duelist of the roses is one of them. As for gamecube both pokemon games and gotcha force as I used to have gotcha force and sold it along with my wii but I recently acquired a new wii and want to get gotcha force again but my god it's expensive

I tried this bc of all the old games, and hoping they would get some hard to find ones, niche rpgs, play a bunch of different systems on one, and keep a pretty decent library. But its a bunch of games you can buy cheap as hell and just burn to your hard drive and emulate yourself cheaper than this without streaming. And thats why I canceled was bc like streaming on PS plus, its too laggy and unstable and doesnt look as good and I have a great internet speed thats unlimited, but the servers are so far away from most people it wouldnt matter. I say save your cash bc this is a sub and a month goes by fast and before you know it, you wouldve been able to pick up the old system and games you play quick. If they let you download to play, it might be ok if you dont mind a crappy selection.

Antstream seems like a great idea until you realize you can't change your controls or play a game with fast motion and it becomes a blurry mess. Ultimately just no reason to have these games streamed and far worse experience than easy alternatives.

Sick and tired of subscriptions to be honest with you.

But I'm also sick and tired of buying old stuff too.

Why can't we just get a digital hardware system and all the software for a fixed price? Is that really too much to ask?

@Blofse They have been around since 2018. They are doing pretty good. 😁

As a regular user of Antstream I really enjoy what they're doing. It helps that the Discord community is nice. Someone mentioned input lag which is always an issue but I also think they could add more challenges to games with only one.

@gojiguy I know what you mean the problem is a service like this will cannibalize some of the sales. I will alway prefer to own my games.

I suspect also the cost of releasing games on a console platforms. May deter some developer from re-releasing older games. I notice Alien breed is shown in the trailer and I would love to see a console team 17 collection but so far antsream seems to be the only way.

Yes I know they did an evercade release.

Given this business has a lifetime teir that model will cause them issues in the long run.

Also how long will they support platforms for? As if they stop PS4 support then you will need to buy a PS5 so that's another £400 just to use it.

I'll pass. If the games could be downloaded and run locally it could be a fun Retro Game Pass, but it makes no sense to stream these old games. The hardware could easily run them. Why streaming?

It really bothers me how many amazing games are only (legally) available through a streaming based emulator with horrific input lag.

Meh I'll stick with legal emulation of my stack of PS1 games. Thankfully I backed them up - I do wonder how long they will last, can't be long now. I'm privileged to own a lot of them from OG plus loads of second hand shops and trading before they were all obliterated by game and eBay. Them were the days, and they really were - now everyone knows the value of everything. But subscription services like this IMO can't last and also don't help, mainly because licensing will always disappear eventually. Like gfn, they are all too greedy!

@-wc- I’m more than content with my retro collection. I hope folks are enjoying, just don’t think it’s for me. And yes, the sub model is bound to bankrupt several companies.

Edit: I think it can happen, but I sure don’t have the solution now that all of that media is forever fragmented and cable TV is long dead 😵

remember subscribing to print magazines, back in the day? remember how when you eventually cancelled, or the magazine went under, they didn't come to your house and confiscate the magazines youd been enjoying (and paying for) over the months and years?

it's true. if they insist on this model, game "subscriptions" should be like that. 👍

I'm really enjoying Antstream and playing with friends is great. Adding more ps1 games and possibly ps2 and gamecube, hell yes please. I hope they also bring Coleco and intellivision. Also be nice to see more atari, zx spectrum and c64 titles
